Kate Curneen joins Simmons & Simmons Ireland as Banking Partner

International law firm Simmons & Simmons continues its expansion in Dublin with the appointment of Kate Curneen as a partner in its financial markets team.

Joining from DLA Piper, Kate brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in advising domestic and international clients on a range of real estate and development finance, acquisition finance, fund finance and asset based lending transactions.

Kate has significant expertise in syndicated and club lending, multi-layered and loan-on-loan financings, and lending into QIAIFs, including ICAVs and other fund structures.

Her experience also includes distressed and non-performing loan portfolios, where she has advised vendors, purchasers, and financiers on various restructuring, workout, and refinancing scenarios. Her comprehensive understanding of regulatory matters, having previously been seconded to both a bank and a loan servicer, will further enhance the firm's capabilities in consumer and SME lending, authorisation and compliance issues, passporting, credit servicing, and arrears resolution.

Kate’s clients have included domestic and international financial institutions, non-bank lenders, asset managers, investment funds, corporates and family offices.
