Epiq announced Kate Chan, a recognized eDiscovery and information governance expert with extensive global experience, has joined as Regional Vice President to drive strategic growth across the Asia Pacific region.
This addition further strengthens Epiq’s eDiscovery, information governance, regulatory, compliance, litigation preparedness, and court reporting capabilities across the Asia Pacific Region. Chan will be responsible for driving business strategy across Epiq’s Asia-Pacific businesses in People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, India, and Southeast Asia.
Chan, an industry authority and frequent speaker, brings significant leadership experience to Epiq, including recent Managing Director roles at Breakwater Solutions and Ankura. Notably, she also spent a decade as the Regional Managing Director at Kroll’s Asia Pacific Legal Technologies Practice (now KLDiscovery).
“Kate’s dedication to clients, passion for growth, and proven track record make her a valuable addition to our growing team,” said Caroline Woodman, Epiq Legal Solutions’ International Senior Vice President and Managing Director. “Her expertise and leadership will be integral as we continue to expand the solutions we offer to clients in APAC.”
Chan has helped some of the highest profile law firms, corporations, government agencies, and judiciaries implement and customize the management of evidence through the use of technology in cross border litigation, regulatory review, and investigations. These multi-jurisdiction matters involve computer forensics, eDiscovery, document review, managed services contracts, and new technologies across the globe. Her background also includes time as a practicing lawyer in New York and as an entrepreneur co-founding a technology startup focused on the Asian market.
“I am honored to be taking the lead and work to continue expanding Epiq’s leadership and expertise across the region,” Chan said. “I look forward to working with our local and international clients to provide a range of technology-enabled solutions from information governance to eDiscovery.”
