The Kansas Bar Association early next month is planning a CLE seminar titled Under the Umbrella: A Lawyer's Response to the Storms (Rip-Offs, Scams and Frauds).
The program will take place on Friday, March 2 from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Robert K. Weary Education Center, 719 Southwest Van Buren, Topeka, KS. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.
Among the topics speakers will examine are: Recurring Consumer Issues; Plaintiffs' Bloopers - What Defendants Hope Plaintiffs Do or Don't Do; Viewing the KCPA From the Bench; How You Can Get Involved in a Consumer Law Pro Bono Panel; Economically Viable Consumer Cases; The History of the KCPA and the Uniform Consumer Credit Code, and The New Kansas Rules of Professional Conduct.
Among the program speakers are Robert E. Hiatt, Kansas Department of Commerce; Marty M. Snyder, Kansas Attorney General's Office, and James J. Welch, Kansas Department of Insurance.
