In a move that further enhances its global arbitration and complex litigation capabilities, Paul Hastings LLP announced today that premier international arbitration lawyer Jonathan C. Over more than a quarter of a century, Hamilton has been a true pioneer in the field of international arbitration. He has successfully advised on billions of dollars in multinational and multilingual disputes and transactions across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. He is widely recognized as a global leader in international dispute resolution and joins from White & Case, where he was head of Latin America arbitration.

“Jonathan’s exceptional experience and international reputation will enable us to further expand our international arbitration and complex litigation platforms,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “He is known as an innovative and strategic leader, and we are thrilled that he has joined us.”

Hamilton’s experience spans sectors and encompasses bet-the-asset commercial and investment arbitration, cross-border litigation, and investment and complex negotiations and mediation. He is listed by The Legal 500 as a “Hall of Fame” lawyer and is consistently recognized by that publication, Chambers & Partners, Latin Lawyer, Global Arbitration Review, and Who’s Who: Arbitration. His cases have been featured in publications like The Economist, Le Monde, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, and have been recognized with awards by publications such as The American Lawyer, Financial Times, and Global Arbitration Review (GAR), including recognition by GAR for the most influential arbitration decision of the last decade.

“There is tremendous momentum at Paul Hastings across its impressive global footprint, as well as strong synergy between the firm’s platform and my practice. I look forward to working with the firm’s exceptional lawyers to make the most of opportunities to provide premium legal services to clients,” said Hamilton. “With a strong heritage in the field, Paul Hastings is building the future of international arbitration.”

Hamilton follows Oliver Browne, international arbitrator and complex litigator who recently joined the firm in London, where Garreth Wong, well-known international arbitration leader and co-chair of international arbitration at Paul Hastings, joined last year.
