Sidley is pleased to announce that Jon Dean has joined the firm as a partner in the Commercial Litigation and Disputes practice in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Sidley, he was head of McDermott Will & Emery’s Los Angeles Litigation practice.
A former prosecutor and experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Dean focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including patent and trade secrets cases, antitrust actions, securities matters, unfair competition cases, trademark disputes, employment actions, OSHA cases, and healthcare matters.
Mr. Dean also represents companies and individuals in connection with civil and criminal government investigations, including investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General and local law enforcement agencies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jon to our Southern California team,” said Rollin Ransom, managing partner of the Los Angeles office and co-leader of the global Commercial Litigation and Disputes practice. “Jon is well known in Los Angeles, and his nearly 30 years of connections to LA-based and national clients will strengthen our existing relationships and litigation offering across all industries.”
“Jon is a tremendously talented trial lawyer, and we’re eager to have him join our accomplished group of litigators,” said Bruce Braun, global co-leader of Sidley’s Litigation practice. “Jon adds further strength and depth – and exceptional skill – to our national litigation team, and he will be a valuable contributor to the firm’s outstanding litigation practice in the Greater LA region. His knowledge and experience will allow Sidley to continue to meet the market’s growing demand for complex litigation and trial expertise.”
