Barnes & Thornburg is pleased to announce that Jason B. Myers has rejoined the firm’s Dallas office as a partner in its Real Estate Department.
Myers, who was previously with the firm from 2019 to 2021, brings extensive experience handling complex transactional and legal matters, with a focus on commercial real estate and finance. During his 30-year career, Myers has served in various in-house legal and business roles, handling traditional real estate and finance transactions and projects in the energy, public-private partnership, M&A, and economic development sectors.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jason back to Barnes & Thornburg,” said Salvador P. LaViña, chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department. “His deep knowledge of real estate finance and the financial services sector and firsthand experience with real estate investment will be invaluable for our clients looking to optimize their assets and maintain compliance in an ever-shifting economic environment.”
Before entering private practice, Myers was vice president of asset management for a real estate developer and independent power producer. In that role, he managed financial modeling, regulatory and covenant compliance, and investor relations. In his legal career, Myers led the financial services legal team for a global private equity firm and worked at prominent international and regional law firms.
“Our team in Dallas continues to attract top-tier clients who rely on us for their most sophisticated legal needs,” said Thomas Haskins, managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office. “Jason’s addition will further enhance our reputation as a leading practice and strengthen our position in one of the country’s most dynamic real estate markets and rapidly evolving financial hubs.”
“I am so excited to be rejoining Barnes & Thornburg,” Myers added. “There is such a dynamism and energy about the firm that made it a real easy decision to ‘come back home.’”
Myers earned his J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, his M.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his B.S., cum laude, from Illinois State University.
