Benesch, one of the fastest-growing firms on the AmLaw 200 list, is pleased to announce the addition of Partner Jason C. Hamilton to the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in San Francisco.
Prior to joining Benesch, Jason served as Director of Litigation and Legal Affairs for a rapidly growing, publicly traded company in a highly competitive, highly litigious industry. While there, he directed the successful defense of multiple high-stakes cases and supported the company’s recruiting and expansion efforts, leading to 40% annual revenue growth for four consecutive years, while managing legal risk and reducing litigation exposure. Jason brings the experience of an in-house litigator to his Benesch clients and is well-suited to addressing the myriad of legal issues faced by companies of all sizes and their key individuals.
“Jason’s deep trial experience and strategic insight in complex commercial and intellectual property litigation make him a valuable addition to our team,” said Benesch Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg. “His knowledge spans all phases of litigation and compliance, enhancing our ability to effectively represent clients in both state and federal courts.”
Jason’s practice focuses on complex commercial business litigation, including intellectual property matters and class actions. He has meaningful stand-up trial experience and is experienced in all phases of litigation, including discovery, dispositive motions, trial, and appeals in various state and federal courts. Jason represents companies and individuals in disputes over intellectual property rights, including patents and trade secrets, employee-mobility (non-compete and no-solicit), fiduciary duties, alleged unfair business practices, product liability, and contractual disputes, including licensing and royalty disputes. His strategic acumen extends to compliance, where he has developed and implemented policies and procedures for Anti-Kickback Law, Stark Law and HIPAA compliance.
Jason has been recognized for his outstanding legal work and community contributions through numerous prestigious awards. He was recognized by Southern California Rising Stars (Super Lawyers) from 2013 to 2022. In 2015, Jason received the Disability Rights Award from the ACLU Foundation of Southern California. His dedication to pro bono work earned him the Board of Governors of the State Bar of California, Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services, and Public Counsel’s Impact Litigation Volunteer of the Year in 2010. Additionally, he received the Distinguished Writing Award in Law from The Burton Awards in 2011. Jason holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law.
