Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that attorney Jason A. Gersting has recently joined the firm’s Orange County office as a partner in the Intellectual Property practice group.
Gersting focuses his practice on strategic management of intellectual property portfolios within the life science, biotechnology and medtech sectors. His experience encompasses a wide range of services such as patent and trademark prosecution, intellectual property due diligence, negotiating licensing and other agreements, infringement and validity matters, as well as the counseling of clients regarding their intellectual property assets in view of their near- and long-term business goals.
Gersting currently serves clients in various technology fields including cell therapy, immune management therapy, gene therapy, regenerative medicine, biotechnology, microorganism, clean tech, medical devices, aesthetics, personal care products, and nutraceuticals. Additionally, Gersting assists counsel from outside the U.S. in securing U.S. patent protection for their clients in these, and other, industries.
Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Gersting was a partner at Knobbe Martens in Orange County. He was recognized by The Legal 500 for Patent Licensing in 2023 and for Patent Prosecution in 2022, and was named to Legal Media Group’s (LMG) inaugural “Rising Stars” guide in 2015. He received his J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law, and his Ph.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine, where his research focused on fetal neuroendocrine signaling and prostaglandins' role in labor initiation and delivery at the end of pregnancy. Gersting received his M.S. in Pharmacology from Indiana University School of Medicine by developing methods to analyze the differential expression of calcium channels in response to disease or injury, and his B.S. in Neurobiology from Purdue University.
