Jan Joosten joins FisherBroyles in New York as a partner

FisherBroyles announces Jan Joosten has joined the Firm in New York as a partner.

Jan joins FisherBroyles from Neogene Therapeutics, where he served as general counsel. He previously was a partner at Hughes Hubbard & Reed and Baker McKenzie, both in New York.

Jan brings more than 25 years of experience advising clients on corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions (including private equity transactions), capital markets transactions and joint ventures, often with cross-border aspects.

He also has extensive experience in representing Dutch and other European companies doing business in the United States in a broad range of matters.

Jan has spoken extensively on topics such as legal pitfalls for foreign companies doing business in the U.S., mergers and acquisitions in the U.S. by Dutch companies and U.S. securities law. He also co-authored “U.S. Securities Regulation — a Guidebook for International Companies” and “Legal Aspects of Doing Business in the United States for Dutch Companies.”

Originally from the Netherlands, Jan received a Master of Civil Law and a Master of Tax Law from Leiden University as well as an LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
