JAMS panelist Hon. Gregory M. Sleet (Ret.) appointed mediator in Blackbaud multidistrict litigation

JAMS announces that Hon. Gregory M. Sleet (Ret.) has been appointed as mediator in the Blackbaud data breach multidistrict litigation (MDL).

United States District Court Judge J. Michelle Childs appointed Judge Sleet to assist parties with settlement negotiations related to the MDL, which alleges that cloud computing provider Blackbaud failed to adequately respond to hackers whose activities compromised the personal data of its clients and their customers.

The MDL has been receiving attention for the diverse team of attorneys appointed to lead the class action. Judge Childs appointed what has been called “the most diverse leadership team ever,” with the goal of “developing the future generation of diverse MDL leadership.” The team comprises eight women and four men, including lawyers of color.

With 20 years of experience serving on the bench of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, including seven years as chief judge, Judge Sleet has deep experience in various areas of complex commercial litigation. As a JAMS neutral in Philadelphia, he focuses his practice on mediations, arbitrations and neutral analysis, including case evaluation and mock trials.
