IP Law Fundamentals ExplainedIn Colorado Seminar

On Thursday, May 20, the Colorado Bar Association has scheduled the Fundamentals of IP Law.

It will run from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the CLECI Large Classroom, 1900 Grant Street in Denver.

Knowing how to protect technology and software and client brands is essential knowledge for attorneys advising businesses, universities, nonprofits and governments, as is learning how to capitalize on that value through licensing. This one-day program will teach the fundamentals of patent and software protection, how the patent litigation process works, trademark protection and policing, and how to license out what you've protected and license in what you need.

Highlights include a comprehensive update about recent case law and regulatory and practice developments; networking opportunities with IP professionals across the western U.S.; special track for in-house counsel; a judicial panel on trends in IP litigation and best practices; IP diligence and issues in corporate M&A; monetization of IP; and issues raised by social media in the workplace.

Among the faculty are Orion Armon, Cooley Godward Kronsih LLP; Katina C. Banks, Dorsey & Whitney LLP; and Jason D. Haislmaier, Holme Roberts & Owen LLP.
