Illinois State Bar Antitrust Seminar: Repercussions Of The Landmark Rambus Ruling

The Illinois State Bar Association will present a program exploring the implications of the Rambus decision titled Rambus is Final: Where Do We Go From Here?The seminar will be held on Friday, September 11 from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the law offices of Kirkland and Ellis, LLP, 300 N. LaSalle, Chicago.

The panel discussion will be led by moderators G. David Mathues and Christine P. Payne, both of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP.Speakers will include Richard P. Beem, Beem Patent Law Firm; Mildred L. Calhoun, BP America; David K. Callahan, Kirkland & Ellis, LLP; and J. Robert Roberson of the Federal Trade Commission.

The dynamic field of technology development was recently affected by the D.C. circuit's decision in Rambus - especially after the Supreme Court denied certiorari for the case - making it important to address antitrust and intellectual property implications for future litigation.Unresolved issues and the history and future of the landmark Rambus decision will be examined from the perspectives of different types of practitioners.
