Anderson Kill announces that Howard Mulligan, a securities lawyer with deep experience in structured finance, has joined the firm’s New York office as a shareholder.
Howard comes to Anderson Kill with extensive large firm experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities law, structured finance, business restructurings, bankruptcy law, securities law and regulatory compliance. He has completed a wide range of transactions relating to securitizations involving numerous asset classes, mergers and acquisitions, derivative transactions (including interest rate swaps, credit default swaps and total return swaps), business restructurings, purchases of assets from bankruptcy estates as well as “lift the stay” matters, acquisitions and dispositions of equipment lease portfolios and structured products, purchases and sales of commercial real estate, including “B” notes and mezzanine loans, as well as restructurings of synthetic transactions.
Howard also acts as a consultant to various law firms and provides expert services and regulatory advice on structured finance and a wide array of corporate matters.
Among the broad range of transactions Howard has completed, he has successfully directed public offerings in the medical equipment sector; served as lead counsel on initial private placement offerings; negotiated renewals of liquidity facilities for private lenders; led successful corporate reorganizations, including acquisitions and dispositions of pharmacies; provided seller representation in major financial services transactions; and obtained favorable results for multiple swap counterparties in the Lehman bankruptcy case. He has also directed acquisition transactions with regard to novel assets and obtained regulatory and rating agency approval for issuance of new asset classes, including novel and exotic assets, such as energy related, intellectual property, and telecom, insurance/annuity and currency arbitrage transactions.
