The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America (NY ACCA) and the firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP this month are planning a CLE seminar that will attempt to answer the question: What do you do if your company is accused of 'cooking the books?'
The program, titled The Anatomy of a Corporate Crisis, will take place on Wednesday, September 20 at the Morgan Lewis offices, 101 Park Avenue, New York City.
The program features a hypothetical crisis, complete with a whistleblower, a government investigation, and a financial restatement. A panel of nationally recognized attorneys will lead the discussion of this fictional, but all too plausible, drama that opens with an accusation that - whether true or false - could lead to civil or criminal liability and a 'melt down' in a company's market capitalization.
The program moderator is Leslie Caldwell, a Morgan Lewis partner and former director of the Enron Task Force of the U.S. Justice Department. Other panelists include Jack Dodds, Anne Flannery, Linda Griggs and David McManus, all of Morgan Lewis, and Edward Rial, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP.
