Hot Topics In Bankruptcy Law CoveredIn Colorado Seminar

On Friday, December 17, in a daylong seminar, the Colorado Bar Association will cover Bankruptcy Law Hot Topics.

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the CLECI Large Classroom, 1900 Grant Street in Denver.

Bankruptcy continues to be a byproduct of the economic downturn, and in the current sagging economy, bankruptcy issues are surfacing in other practice areas, including real estate law. Bankruptcy, real estate, business law and solo lawyers and those who need to be up-to-date on the latest issues in bankruptcy law will want to attend this conference to learn about the hot issues in the bankruptcy world.

Topics that will be covered include consumer bankruptcy update, business bankruptcy update, troubling tax issues in bankruptcy, professional firm insolvencies and bankruptcy, updates on new rules, procedures, and common mistakes as seen by the clerk's office, a housing/mortgage/foreclosure panel and a view from the bench.

The consumer bankruptcy update will be presented by Matt J. McCune, The McCune Law Firm LLC and Hon. Howard Tallman, chief judge, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of CO. The business bankruptcy update will be presented by Jeffrey Brinen, Kutner Miller Brinen PC and Judge Tallman, and Charles S. Parnell, Parnell & Associates P.C., will discuss tax issues in bankruptcy.
