Hon. Elizabeth Allen White (Ret.) joins JAMS in Los Angeles

JAMS announces the addition of Hon. Elizabeth Allen White (Ret.) to its panel. Prior to joining JAMS, Judge White served 23 years as a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court. Judge White was assigned to serve as a justice pro tem of the California Court of Appeal, 2nd District in 2004 and again in 2020. Her judicial career started in the then Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1997, and she was elevated in 2000 upon unification. Previously, she was a trial attorney representing both plaintiffs and defendants in employment and general business litigation.

Based in the Los Angeles Resolution Center, Judge White will serve as an arbitrator and mediator, handling disputes in business and commercial, civil rights, employment, entertainment and sports, insurance, personal injury and torts, professional liability, real property and construction.

Judge White presided in Department 48, an independent civil calendar court at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles. She served as chair of the Judicial Education Seminars Civil Law Subcommittee from 2016 through her retirement in 2020.

Additionally, Judge White is the president elect for the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ), an organization dedicated to promoting diversity on the bench, fostering collegiality and providing quality education for judges. She also served as chair of the NAWJ’s 2019 Annual Conference in Los Angeles and chair of District 14, which encompasses both California and Nevada. She will serve as the NAWJ’S president elect from October 2020 through October 2021.

Judge White received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. from Loyola Law School.
