Morgan Lewis welcomes as partners in London Hiroshi Sheraton and Luciana Griebel, two accomplished lawyers focused on the life sciences industry. A veteran intellectual property (IP) litigator, Hiroshi arrives from Baker McKenzie, and Luciana, a transactional lawyer, will arrive from Covington & Burling on September 6. Both will continue to assist companies in the life sciences sector on high-stakes IP, patent, and brand matters, and with global acquisitions and divestitures, private equity transactions, and strategic investments, respectively.
“As innovation continues apace in the life sciences sector, our clients count on us to assert or defend patent cases in global markets and assess and mitigate transactional risk as they pursue strategic acquisitions and partnerships in the industry,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Hiroshi and Luciana each bring a background and targeted skillset to help global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies protect their products and brands and achieve their growth objectives.”
“Hiroshi and Luciana accentuate our firm’s investment into our life sciences capabilities in London, Europe, and around the world,” said Kathleen Sanzo, co-leader of the firm’s life sciences industry team. “Their respective focus on critical IP issues and M&A will benefit clients doing cross-border business in these markets and beyond, and position them well to work with colleagues across practices and jurisdictions.”
“Their collaborative nature and knowledge of the unique needs of life sciences clients make Hiroshi and Luciana fantastic additions to our team,” said Frances Murphy, managing partner of the firm’s London office. “We look forward to welcoming and getting to know our new colleagues better.”
Hiroshi and Luciana’s arrival follows former pharma pricing in-house counsel Stephen Forster joining the firm’s Washington, DC office in March 2024, and is the latest in a number of hires for Morgan Lewis’s London office including secondaries partner Ted Craig in July 2024 and former UK privacy and cybersecurity regulatory official Vishnu Shankar in October 2023.
