Headliners To Highlight DRI Meeting

Several headliners will highlight the schedule of activities at this month's Annual Meeting of DRI, The Voice of the Defense Bar.

The event will take place Wednesday-Saturday, October 10-13 at the Marriott Wardman Park, 2600 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC.

Bob Woodward, an assistant managing editor at the Washington Post who first gained notoriety for his reporting with Carl Bernstein on the Watergate scandal, will open the Thursday session with a discussion of the President and the Press.

The Thursday Awards Luncheon will feature William K. Suter, who has served as clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court since 1991. Previously, he was a career Army judge advocate and retired as a major general.

On Friday, Britt Hume, Washington, DC managing editor for Fox News, will offer an update on current political developments in the nation's capital.

A Diversity Reception is scheduled Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hall of Gemology at the National Museum of Natural History. Also at the Natural History Museum on Thursday, DRI is planning DRI Night at the Museum from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Food and drink will be served at the event.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to earn up to 18 hours of CLE credit through several days of informative programming.

The event will conclude on Saturday evening with the President's Gala from 6:30 to 10 p.m., featuring political satirist Jim Morris. John H. Martin, a partner at Thompson & Knight LLP, will be seated as DRI's 2007-2008 president.
