The Houston Bar Association has created an opportunity for attorneys to help young reservists.
In November, 300 young Marine Reservists will deploy to Afghanistan from Ellington Air Force Base in Houston. Through its Veteran's Legal Initiative, the HBA has been asked to provide them with wills and basic estate planning documents before deployment
Participants will receive basic estate planning information completed by the reservists, and will be asked to prepare the documents from the information provided. They will have about a month to contact the reservists with any questions and to draft the documents. Volunteers will finalize the execution of the wills on September 11.
