Handling IP Issues In Business Transactions: Focus Of PLI Seminar

On Monday and Tuesday, January 12 and 13, the Practising Law Institute will hold a seminar titled Handling Intellectual Property Issues in Business Transactions 2009 at its conference center, 810 Seventh Avenue, NY City from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

A stellar group of experts will gather including co-chairs Steven I. Weisburd, Dickstein Shapiro LLP and Eric A. Prager, K&L Gates LLP; Debra A. Dandeneau, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP; David H. The two-day program will give attendees the tools they need to assess intellectual property as a strategic asset, to consider opportunities to monetize it, and to structure business transactions so as to match business goals and avoid costly missteps.Topics to be covered will include IP portfolio review and management, licensing, valuation, and enforcement. Joint development issues, bankruptcy issues and due diligence checklists will be reviewed.
