Davis Polk today announced that leading private equity practitioner Gordon Milne will join the firm as a partner in the Corporate practice in London.
“I am thrilled to welcome Gordon to Davis Polk,” said Neil Barr, Davis Polk’s Managing Partner. “We have identified our London office as an area ripe for growth. Gordon is highly respected in the market and represents an important step in the execution of our strategy to build out our UK private equity capabilities.”
Mr. Milne advises private equity houses, financial sponsors and their portfolio companies on the full range of cross border M&A and corporate finance transactions, including complex carve-outs and public-to-private takeovers. He has over 25 years of private equity experience and is recognized as a leading private equity practitioner by publications including Chambers UK and ILFR 1000. Prior to joining Davis Polk, Mr. Milne was a partner in the Private Equity practice at A&O Shearman.
“Gordon’s practice mix of private M&A transactions, minority investments and portfolio company mandates spanning refinancings, restructurings and exits aligns very well with our platform,” said Will Pearce, head of Davis Polk’s Europe practice. “Gordon is one of the preeminent private equity practitioners in London, with an impressive portfolio of longstanding fund clients. We are absolutely delighted to have him on board as we continue to grow and evolve our London practice.”
Mr. Milne said, “This is a truly exciting opportunity. Davis Polk is a first-rate firm with a distinguished reputation and terrific culture. The team is fantastic and I am really looking forward to working with them to further develop the private equity platform in London.”
