FisherBroyles welcomes Seth Travis as a partner in Chicago

FisherBroyles, LLP announces Seth Travis joins the firm in Chicago, Illinois as partner.

Seth joins the firm from Sandia Point Capital, a start-up quantitative proprietary trading firm, where he was General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer.

Seth has extensive experience managing the complex legal and administrative needs and challenges of growing, diverse businesses. In his practice he has handled all legal and regulatory affairs of trading and investment firms, including transactions, regulatory matters, employment matters, financial and tax planning, operational support, contract negotiation, dispute resolution and risk management. He also has significant litigation experience, including as first chair on complex litigation and arbitration cases.

Prior to Sandia Point Capital, Seth was General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer at Teza Technologies LLC and its affiliates, a quantitative proprietary trading and investment management organization.

While at Teza, Seth was on the firm’s management committee, serving as President of a global futures trading entity and CEO of an SEC-registered broker-dealer, holding Series 56 and 24 licenses. During his tenure at Teza, Seth also served for two years as a member of the executive committee of the Futures Industry Association, Principal Traders Group.

Before joining Teza in 2011, Seth was a partner with Jenner & Block, where he spent more than 14 years as a litigator and business advisor on complex matters, including financial services, intellectual property, restrictive covenant, real estate, and criminal matters.

Seth has a JD (cum laude) from Northwestern University School of Law and a BBA (magna cum laude) in accounting from Baruch College, City University of New York.
