Fall Business Law Course Covers Advanced Topics

On Thursday and Friday, October 13 and 14, the State Bar of Texas will offer an Advanced Business Law Course in Dallas.

It will run from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Friday at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.

Topics to be covered include nexus and state tax due diligence in M&A transactions and multistate business models; employment issues in business transactions; legislative and case law update; minority equity owner oppression; and cloud computing and social media.

On Thursday, Ryan Cox of Haynes and Boone LLP will discuss practical considerations for registering securities pursuant to the Texas Securities Act, and Stacy Brainin, also of Haynes and Boone, will cover conflicts of interest and other ethical issues facing law firms and in-house lawyers. On Friday, Chad Baruch, The Law Office of Chad Baruch, will cover legal writing in the luncheon presentation.
