Epiq, a global technology-enabled services leader to the legal industry and corporations, announced today clients in Asia-Pacific and EMEA will be able to engage Epiq experts to provide its speech-to-text platform, EpiqFAST, in a courtroom environment.
The Epiq-developed, AI-enabled technology delivers instantaneous speech-to-text output of court proceedings, which is separated by speaker, so clients can follow along in real time as the hearing proceeds, make notes and share comments, and obtain a draft transcript at the end of the day. EpiqFAST contains tools enabling users to stop live scrolling to read previous text, annotate, search, and save.
“EpiqFAST is truly ground-breaking technology and will be a gamechanger for the court reporting industry by providing an instant draft of court proceedings, complete with speaker separation, to be accessible to parties,” said Charlotte Pache, Senior Vice President, International Court Reporting. “We’re proud to be able to launch EpiqFAST, helping our clients collaborate more efficiently by being able to gain immediate access to transcripts in draft. All that our clients need is a web browser and a password.”
Epiq’s technical team will set up the courtroom in advance of proceedings to ensure the most accurate capture of what’s said. Participants in the hearing will be provided with a username and password to access the content live, as it happens. Proceedings can also be streamed to remote participants. Once the hearing has ended, and if required, Epiq’s expert editors can produce a fully checked and completed transcript within three hours.
