Benesch, one of the fastest-growing firms on the AmLaw 200 list, is pleased to announce the addition of Emily Morrison as a partner in its Corporate & Securities practice group.
Emily, based in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses her practice on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including handling such matters as part of corporate, M&A and private equity transactions. She regularly advises clients on the various legal requirements for qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, incentive compensation arrangements, and health and welfare benefit plans.
“Emily understands the highly complex array of business and regulatory factors employers must consider as they structure compensation and benefits plans, and consider how business transactions will impact those plans,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Benesch’s managing partner. “Her substantial experience and thoughtful approach to advising clients make her a valuable addition to the Benesch team.”
Emily’s practice also includes representing clients in matters involving voluntary compliance correction filings, Affordable Care Act assessments and other audits and inquiries initiated by the U.S. Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
Prior to joining Benesch, Emily was a partner at Honigman LLP in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
