DRI Wrapping Up Plans For Annual Meeting

DRI, The Voice of the Defense Bar, is finalizing plans for its 2007 Annual Meeting under the theme Framing Our Future in the Nation's Capital.

The gathering is scheduled for October 10-14 at the Marriott Wardman Park, located across the street from the National Zoological Park in Washington, DC.

Among the headliners on the schedule are Bob Woodward, an assistant managing editor at the Washington Post who first gained notoriety for his reporting with Carl Bernstein on the Watergate Scandal, and Brit Hume, Washington, DC managing editor for Fox News.

Mr. Woodward will open the Thursday session with a discussion of The President and the Press. On Friday, Mr. Hume will offer an update on current developments in Washington at the time.

The Thursday Awards Luncheon will feature William K. Suter, who has served as the Clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court since 1991. Previously, he was a career Army judge advocate and retired as a major general.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to earn up to 18 hours of CLE credit through several days of informative programming.

The event will conclude on Saturday evening with the President's Gala, featuring political satirist Jim Morris, where John H. Martin, a partner at Thompson & Knight LLP, will be seated as DRI's 2007-2008 president.
