While finding proposed changes by the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules to Rule 30(b)(6) concerning depositions “to be helpful, in the main, to all litigants”, DRI, in its official comments to the Committee, calls for a framework for the meet and confer discussions proposed in the amendments. It further calls for the elimination of a provision that creates “an unwarranted duty on organizations requiring them to confer about the identity of each person to be designated to testify.”
DRI also suggests seven additional improvements to the rule. Click here to read the letter in its entirety.
