DRI has scheduled its seventh annual Appellate Advocacy Seminar.
The program will take place Thursday and Friday, February 28 and 29 at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes in Orlando, FL. Sessions will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. on Friday.
A faculty of judges, professors and appellate practitioners will provide various perspectives on appellate advocacy. A panel of federal and state appellate judges - Judge Diane Sykes of the Seventh Circuit, Chief Justice Jean Hoefer Toal of the South Carolina Supreme Court, and Judge Theodore McKee of the Third Circuit - will discuss the view from the other side of the bench.
James Duff, director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, will examine trends in federal appellate practice. A panel of general counsel will share their views on the role of appellate lawyers during significant trials.
