Dentons launches in Italy a new service unit on ESG and Sustainability, dedicated to integrated advice on sustainable finance and investments, corporate governance, environment and energy transition.
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to investors, financial institutions and companies that are being called upon to adapt to new organizational and business models, also in the light of growing regulatory developments in this area.
To support clients in this important transition, Dentons has structured a multi-practice team of professionals from different practices, including: Banking and Finance; Corporate M&A, Competition and Antitrust, Employment, Energy and Tax.
The new service unit will provide integrated advice, focusing on four macro areas: sustainable finance and investments, with a focus on green, social and sustainability bonds, ESG-linked financial products and ESG due diligence; corporate governance, with a focus on the establishment and governance of corporate bodies and committees, internal policies remuneration plans and policies, environment, with particular attention to climate change issues, urban regeneration and sustainable use of resources, and energy transition, with a focus on investments in renewables and energy efficiency.
Each area will be coordinated respectively by partners Gianpaolo Garofalo, Antonella Brambilla, Federico Vanetti and Carsten Steinhauer.

The Italian service unit will be part of the European Sustainability Expert Team, emphasizing Dentons’ joint European strategy to answer to the most pressing sustainability issues in our times. The European Sustainability Expert Team is composed of lawyers with multidisciplinary competences and ESG experts to ensure a comprehensive assistance that combines legal advice with strategic and operational advice.
