DC Bar Teaches Drafting And Negotiating Executive Employment Contracts

On Monday, June 20, the DC Bar will hold a CLE course to explain drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements from the perspective of both the employer and the employee.

It will run from 6:00 to 8:15 p.m. at the Bar Conference Center, 1101 K Street NW in Washington DC.

Course materials will include a checklist of topics to consider, including applicable law, term and termination, reimbursement of expenses, describing executive duties, full-time employment and best efforts, conflict of interest and abiding by the rules, compensation, bonuses, benefits, liability protection, stock options, confidentiality restrictions, intellectual property and more. Sample agreements will be provided.

Christine Kearns of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and R. Scott Oswald, The Employment Law Group P.C., will lead the course, which will concentrate on DC law but will also compare the law and practice in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
