DC Bar Reviews Export Controls

On Wednesday, November 10, the DC Bar will examine Export Controls and Economic Sanctions 2010: Recent Developments and Current Issues. The seminar will run from 6:00 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1101 K Street, NW, Washington, DC.

The focus will be on current hot topics, including developments resulting from the Obama administration's export control reform initiative and congressional measures to draft and pass a new Export Administration Act. Additionally, the faculty will explore updates on the new commodity classification jurisdiction review program, the validated end-user program, and new regulations to include those that affect dual nationals and encryption rules. The course will enhance attendees' understanding of the U.S. dual-use and munitions export control programs and economic sanctions regimes. An in-class exercise will be offered on the practical application of U.S. export controls to various fact patterns to help attendees better understand the issues.
