Join the DC Bar on Wednesday, February 16, for a seminar that will look into the role of federal government agencies in immigration compliance and employment.
The seminar begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 8:45 p.m. and is located at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1101 K Street, NW, Washington, DC.
Immigration laws that impact employment are enforced by an array of government agencies. Experienced government agency representatives will help participants gain insight into immigration compliance from a government agency perspective, addressing these issues and more: knowingly hiring unauthorized aliens; failure to comply with I-9 employment verification requirements; immigration-related unfair employment practices; immigration-related document fraud and other nonconformities; and the development of the law on National Labor Relations Act remedies for undocumentedworkers.
The faculty also will discuss broader policy issues, including increased civil fines and criminal sanctions for employers.
