DC Bar Offers Writing Courses

The DC Bar Association is planning a pair of seminars designed to lawyers help improve their writing skills.

On Thursday, August 16, DC Bar will present Introduction to Effective Writing for Lawyers from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW, Washington, DC. Participants will learn to think about the writing process; how to get started and how to organize ideas. Then they will learn to find and fix some of the most common writing mistakes that attorneys make.

On Tuesday, August 28, DC Bar is offering Effective Writing for Lawyers Workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., also at the DC Bar Conference Center. Participants will learn how to maker dull and bureaucratic language clear and concise. They also will learn how to untangle sentences and how to edit.

Instructors at each seminar are Jody Beck and Kate Sylvester, both of Writewell.
