DC Bar Looks At Current Issues In SEC Enforcement

On Tuesday, June 15, the DC Bar Association is holding a CLE event titled Remedies in SEC Enforcement Actions: Survey and Current Issues.

The program will be held at the Bar Association conference center at 1101 K. Street N.W. in Washington, DC. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. and adjourn by 9:15 p.m.

There will be a discussion of traditional injunctive remedy, including ancillary relief such as special masters, compliance consultants, undertakings, and asset freezes. In addition, the faculty will explore considerations taken into account for assessing disgorgement and civil penalties, and when officer and director bars may be sought. Administrative remedies will also be discussed, including the interplay of cease-and-desist proceedings and 15(b)(6) proceedings against licensed professionals.

The speakers are Gregory Bruch and Elizabeth Gray of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Lorin Reisner and Cheryl Scarboro of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
