DC Bar Examines Race And Ethnicity In The Courts

Join the DC Bar Association for an interesting seminar that will explore the Perceptions of Race and Ethnicity in the Courts: Views from the Bench, Bar and Jury Box.

The program will begin at 2:15 p.m. and end at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, April 9, at the International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington DC.

The seminar will be a town-hall-style discussion, and participants will be encouraged to offer ideas about improving the public perceptions of racial and ethnic disparities in the DC federal courts in the area. Panelists will address both civil and criminal cases and will discuss issues of access to the courts, the impact of race and ethnicity on decision makers, whether and what types of bias may exist, and solutions to address such biases.

This program is being presented as part of the 2010 Judicial and Bar Conference.
