DC Bar Examines Developments In The FCPA

The DC Bar is presenting a seminar on recent developments in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.The program is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center on 1101 K. Street NW, Washington, DC.

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act has become a top law enforcement priority during the Obama administration. Approximately 100 companies are the subject of open investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission into possible violations of the FCPA. In light of the global economy, companies have responded to these and other developments by greatly increasing their focus on FCPA compliance. A full-day program will provide attendees with a nuts and bolts understanding of this increasingly important topic and a practical knowledge of the implications of the FCPA.

Leading experts in the field of regulation as well as in-house counsel will lead the seminar.The speakers include Rocco DeGrasse, KPMG LLP; Kara Brockmeyer, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; Martin Weinstein, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP; and Peter Jaffe, AES Corporation.
