Global law firm DLA Piper has announced the appointment of investment funds partner David Solander to its Washington, DC office. Prior to joining the firm, Solander held a partnership position at the Washington, DC office of international law firm McDermott Will & Emery.
Solander provides regulatory advice to private fund managers, including private equity, hedge/trading, real estate, venture capital and other alternative structures, involving the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and other US federal securities laws.
His practice involves guiding financial services firms on a variety of compliance, regulatory, and transactional matters arising in the global asset management industry. He has assisted managers with investment product structuring, offering, organisation, and operational matters, in addition to guiding investment advisers through Securities and Exchange Commission examination and enforcement. Solander also advises managers and sponsors on fund formation, and holds expertise in trading and investment within cryptocurrency, digital assets, and companies leveraging blockchain technology.
