Data privacy attorney and litigator Simone McCormick joins FisherBroyles in Palo Alto and California

FisherBroyles, LLP announces it has expanded its Privacy & Data Security and Litigation practice with the arrival of Simone McCormick who joins the Firm as a Partner in Palo Alto and Seattle.

Simone is a Data Privacy Attorney and Litigator who joins the Firm from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith where she was a member of the Data Privacy & Cyber Security Team. Previously she was the former co-chair of a boutique defense law firm’s Cyber Security and Data Privacy practice.

As an experienced breach coach, Simone leads data security incident response investigations of any size and industry sector. This includes managing a network of vendors such as forensics, remediation, and public relations. It also includes counseling clients on legal and regulatory obligations resulting from the incident and guiding them through the notification process, potential regulatory investigation and claims or litigation.

Simone is also an experienced commercial and employment litigator in state and federal courts and before administrative tribunals. Her litigation practice includes cyber/technology, commercial disputes, errors and omissions and employment liability practices claims. Simone’s experience has made her a trusted advisor for counseling clients on data privacy and employment compliance and best practices.

Simone is admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in California, Oregon and Washington. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Simone graduated from Golden Gate University, where she was a member of the Honors Program, Law Review, the Jessup International Moot Court Team and earned the Hugo Grotius Award in International Law. She received her teaching credential and Masters Degree in Linguistics from Kiel University in Germany.
