“Dario is a renowned government strategist and respected lawyer whose deep understanding of the intricacies of policy-making from his public and private sector experience, will help our clients navigate the challenges of increasingly complex infrastructure, energy, and environmental policy issues at the federal, state, and local levels,” said Phil Recht, co-leader of the firm’s Public Policy, Regulatory & Government Affairs practice.
Dario represents and advises Fortune 500 companies, tech start-ups, and government agencies in a variety of matters before federal, state, and local government entities—including legislative, regulatory enforcement, government procurement, and investigations.

He was the appointments secretary to Gov. Gray Davis and was Mayor Eric Garcetti’s appointee to the Oversight Board for the dissolution of the Los Angeles Redevelopment Agency and a member of the California Film Commission.
Dario represents clients in legislative, regulatory and enforcement maters in a range across a range of areas, including energy; climate change; health care; tribal gaming; tax policy; infrastructure/transportation; government procurement; and the share economy. He also has substantial experience drafting legislation and ballot initiatives.
“Dario is widely regarded as a leading policy and regulatory lawyer who has worked on some of the most important issues – from renewables to tax policy to the share economy – and we are excited to welcome him back to the firm,” said John Nadolenco, the managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Los Angeles office. “Dario adds robustness to an already strong California and national government team helping clients navigate the ever-changing public policy terrain.”
