Barnes & Thornburg has announced that Vincent B. Lillegard has joined the firm’s Corporate Department as a partner. The sixth partner addition to the Corporate Department this year, Lillegard joins the rapidly growing Nashville office, where the firm recently signed a new lease, doubling the office’s footprint to accommodate additional growth. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Lillegard was a partner with Bass, Berry & Sims PLC.
An experienced finance attorney, Lillegard focuses his practice on capital market debt transactions and syndicated bank credit facilities. He represents public and private companies, private equity sponsors, banks, and other lenders. Lillegard is well-versed in drafting and negotiating loan documents, drafting company disclosures and managing deal teams.
“Vince’s broad industry experience and familiarity with complex transactions add depth to our growing team as we continue to build our capital markets practice,” said Jahan Sharifi, chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Corporate Department.
Lillegard has represented issuers on high-yield, investment-grade, and convertible note offerings, including related call spread derivative transactions. He has also represented borrowers in large corporate financings, including secured and unsecured revolving credit and term loan facilities, acquisition financings, hybrid securities and other specialized financings. He has advised agent banks and lenders in credit facilities for companies in numerous industries.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Vince to our Nashville office,” said Jay H. Knight, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Nashville office. “As evidenced by our new office lease, the firm is committed to growing our presence in Nashville, and Vince is someone with an understanding of, and a deep investment in, the local community. His addition will enhance our ability to provide excellent and comprehensive capital markets advice to our clients.”
Lillegard received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University.
