The University of Texas School of law this month is offering its three-day 2006 Texas Water Law Institute.
The program will take place on Wednesday-Friday, December 6-8 at the Radisson Hotel & Suites, 111 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX. Sessions run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on day one, 8:50 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on day two, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on day three.
Speakers will cover a variety of topics such as: Water Issues in the Upcoming 80th Legislative Session; The Role of Conservation in Meeting Water Supply Needs; Water Reuse - A Major Water Supply in Texas?; Essential Hydrology for Lawyers, Landowners, and Developers, and Buying and Selling Water; Understanding the Market and Competitive Pressures in Your Area and Documenting the Transaction.
Among the conference speakers are State Sen. Kipp Averitt, chairman of the Senate Natural Resources Committee; Brian E. Berwick, assistant Texas attorney general, Natural Resources Division; the Hon. Joseph B.C. Fitzsimons, chairman, Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, and Rep. Robert R. Puente, Texas House of Representatives.
