The Colorado Bar Association has scheduled a daylong seminar titled Workers Compensation Law: The Fundamentals for Wednesday, January 21, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the CLECI Large Classroom, 1900 Grant Street, Denver.

The course is for attorneys who are new to workers compensation practice or who need a refresher, claims adjusters, human resource professionals, and anyone who wants to get up to speed fast on important concepts in workers compensation. It will lead participants step-by-step through the core law and procedures, from the statutory basis of a Colorado workers compensation claim to the medical treatment process to the ins and outs of pre-hearing and hearing practice. Topics include employer-employee relationships, scope and course of employment, what a compensable injury is, special circumstances, and defenses to compensability.

Among the scheduled faculty presenters are Richard A. Bovarnick, Clifton, Mueller & Bovarnick; Janet L. Frickey, The Frickey Law Firm; and Nancy C. Hummel, Ritsema & Lyon, PC.

Video replays will follow on February 12 in Denver, Grand Junction and Colorado Springs.
