Colorado Bar Schedules Annual Securities Conference

The Colorado Bar Association has scheduled its 41st Annual Rocky Mountain Securities Conference for Friday, May 8, at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center, 650 15th Street in Denver.

The program will begin at 8:15 a.m. and adjourn at 5:15 p.m.

In response to the worldwide financial crisis, the collapse of major financial institutions, frozen credit markets, and more, the Obama administration will take decisive action to stabilize financial markets and aggressively combat fraud and market manipulation through enforcement actions. To explain the situation, the conference brings together SEC and regional enforcement authorities to discuss national and international developments, corporate governance issues in these changing market conditions, and issues confronting the auditing profession, as well as the broker-dealer, investment company, and investment advisor communities.

Among the faculty are Luis Agullar, commissioner, SEC; Erik R. Sirri, director, Division of Trading and Markets, SEC; Stanley J. Sporkin, Office of Federal Housing Enterprise, Oversight; Shelley E.
