Colorado ACCA, CBA Business Law Section Plan 8th Annual Business Law Institute

The Colorado Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America and the Colorado Bar Association Business Law Section have scheduled their 8th Annual Business Law Institute.

The conference will take place Thursday-Saturday, August 2-4at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa, 1300 Westhaven Drive, Vail, CO. Sessions will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on day one, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. on day two, and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on day three.

Among the highlights of the conference discussion topics are: Legal and Economic Factors That Attract (or Deter) Companies to Do Business in Colorado; Waiving and Restricting Duties/Member Rights in Unincorporated Entities; Colorado vs. Delaware Entities; Avoiding Veil Piercing in Parent/Subsidiary Relationships and Other Entities; Attorney-Client Privilege; E-Discovery, Including Records Retention, the Dangers of Email, and Culling the Data, and Ethics Rules Changes - What In-House Attorneys Need to Know.

Among the speakers are: the Hon. Mike Coffman, Colorado Secretary of State; Michael Finley, LexisNexis Applied Discovery; Susan Hackett, general counsel, ACC, and Keith Whitelaw, director of the Business Division, Colorado Department of State.
