CO Seminar Focus: Preventing Legal Malpractice

The Colorado Bar Association will present Preventing Legal Malpractice - Legal Malpractice Triage: Why You Should Have Malpractice Insurance as a live program on Friday, February 12, at the CLECI Large Classroom, 1900 Grant Street in Denver.

This year's program will focus not only on preventing malpractice but also on resolving legal malpractice when it occurs. Participants will learn to mitigate the damage when a client grieves you and hear the most recent and noteworthy malpractice case updates. They will determine when, how, and why to spend money on personal counsel and how to make the mediation process work.

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In the morning, Michael T. McConnell, McConnell Fleischner Houghtaling & Craigmile, LLCand Michael L. Hutchinson, Treece, Alfrey, Musat & Bosworth, P.C. will present Cases from the Crypt (an interesting case law update), followed by Risk Management and Ethical advice by Gawain Charlton-Perrin, a risk consultant attorney with CAN Global Specialty Lines. A panel discussion, How to Make the Mediation Process Work and Avoid Malpractice Pitfalls along the Way will end the event.
