CO Bar To Explore Business Law

The State Bar of Colorado has scheduled its annual Business Law Institute for two days in November, Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6.

Described as Colorado's premier experience for business law attorneys, it will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until 4:05 on Friday.

Outside counsel, in-house counsel, and attorneys who practice tax, securities, employment, and bankruptcy law, as well as corporate management, or anyone who needs to get up to speed on the most important issue in business law will want to attend this event. Attendees will get business law updates, including case law, new legislation, securities law, LLC and partnership law, and franchise law, as well as insights into how the recession is affecting the practice of business law in Colorado. The seminar offers generous amounts of credit, a two-day format, more breakout sessions, and a new location in Denver - the Denver Marriott City Center, 1701 California Street.

Among the breakout sessions are Executive Compensation on the Hot Seat: Recent Developments Concerning Executives and Compensation Committees by Paul Hilton of Hogan & Hartson; Changes in the Practice of Corporate Law in Light of the Recession for Both In-house and Outside Counsel by Michael A. Sabian, Polsinelli Shughart PC; Corporate Compliance: What's New in Government Investigations by William J. Leone, Faegre & Benson, LLP; and the Law of "Green" and other Government Incentives with Rex O'Neal, Faegre & Benson, LLP. On Thursday, the Honorable Bernie Buescher will present the Secretary of State Update.
