CO BarPlans Immigration Law Seminar

The Colorado Bar Association has planned a one-day seminar on Friday, May 21, that will cover Immigration Law Basics and Hot Topics.

It will run from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the CLECI Large Classroom, 1900 Grant Street in Denver.

Attorneys who sign up with RMIAN, the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network, will pay a significantly reduced tuition fee for this program.

Among the topics that will be covered are immigration proceedings for non-immigration practitioners; the basics of asylum - seeking protection from persecution and torture; the world of business immigration explained; special visas for immigrant children, immigrant crime victims and immigrant victims of human trafficking; family-based immigration; and deportation defense - protections for clients before the immigration court.

The faculty includes Regina Germain, University of Denver, Sturm College of Law; David Kolko, Kolko & Associates; Laura Lichter, Lichter & Associates, P.C.; and Patricia Medige, senior attorney, Children's Program, RMIAN.
