Choice Of Entity Ohio State Bar Seminar Focus

On Wednesday, November 12, The Ohio State Bar Association is offering a program titled Choice of Entity. The seminar will be held at the Ohio State Bar offices, 1700 Lake Shore Drive, Columbus, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; the program will run at the same time on Wednesday, December 3 in Akron at the John S. Knight Center, 77 East Mill Street.

Faculty for the seminar will be Bruce D. Bernard and David K. McCarthy, Rea & Associates, Inc., and Rea Strategic Solutions. Mr. Bernard is the author of several books on the topic of selecting business entities.

Topics to be covered in the program will include the nuts and bolts of the legal, management and tax issues affecting the choice of entity for closely held businesses; use of LLCs versus S corporations as a flow-through entity; issues that closely held business owners face throughout the life of the company; and cutting edge tax planning ideas to minimize taxes on the sale of businesses.
