Chicago Program:Current Compliance Issues

On Thursday and Friday, May 12 and 13, the Practising Law Institute has scheduled a seminar focusing on current issues in corporate compliance and ethics.

The Institute will be held at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center, 450 Cityfront Plaza Drive in Chicago. On Thursday it begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., and on Friday it starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.

The institute's faculty is drawn from major corporations, compliance and ethics organizations, law firms, and the government. They will offer attendees the tools to meet today's compliance and ethics challenges and discuss ways to ensure that a company or a client's compliance program satisfies government standards and best practices expectations.

Some of the topics covered are Board Oversight and Program Structure: Responding to the Guidelines' Revisions; How to Perform an Effective Audit Measuring the Effectiveness of Your Compliance Program; Compliance Risk Assessments; and Global Trends in Compliance.

Among the speakers are Theodore L. Banks, president, Compliance & Competition Consultants, LLC; David J. Blasi, vice president, Hyatt Hotels Corporation; Adam Turtletaub, vice president, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics; and Paul E. McGreal, dean designate, University of Dayton School of Law.
