Chicago Conference Focuses On Compliance

On Friday, April 29, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics will offer an annual regional compliance and ethics conference. It begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown, 1 West Wacker Drive in Chicago.

The conference will provide a forum for participants to interact with local compliance professionals in order to share information about compliance successes and challenges. Attendees will learn about current regulatory requirements, government enforcement initiatives, and the management of effective compliance programs.

Michael Rasmussen, compliance lecturer, writer and advisor to Corporate Integrity LLC, will discuss the implications of new regulations and address how to approach regulatory changes in a consistent way. He will also outline steps to implement an effective policy management program including communication of policies, tracking attestation, monitoring metrics, and relating policy management to risk.

In the afternoon session, Ellen Walsh, ofPricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will discuss enterprise risk management frameworks and the integration of ethics and compliance.

Other speakers include Laura Merten, chief compliance officer, Walgreens; Haydee Olinger, vice president, Global Compliance and Ethics Office, McDonald's; and Brenda Hildreth, director of ethics and compliance, Baxter International Inc.
